Legalise Nuclear Energy in Australia
Of the 20 largest economies globally, Australia is the only one with a ban on nuclear power.
32 countries including the US, UK, Finland, and Sweden have used nuclear energy for decades. Today, 50 countries are considering using nuclear energy for the first time.
At a time when Australia is experiencing an energy and climate crisis, we must have all clean energy options on the table, including nuclear energy.
OVERTURN AUSTRALIA’S NUCLEAR BAN
The world is moving toward a carbon-free nuclear future, with more countries turning on nuclear plants. Unfortunately, there's a big, Australia-sized gap in this new worldwide carbon-free nuclear push, and that's because of its outdated ban on nuclear power.
The Australian government has the power to overturn this legislative ban but the government of Anthony Albanese, and his Climate & Energy Minister Chris Bowen is standing in the way of progress.
Spain
stop the closure of the Almaraz nuclear plant
In 2027, the first nuclear reactors in Spain are expected to be shut down. The Almaraz nuclear plant generates 7% of what Spain consumes and avoids the emission of six million tons of CO₂ each year.
Keeping it operational is key to economic development, the fight against climate change, and the well-being of thousands of people in the region. Without Almaraz, the country’s access to stable energy will be seriously compromised.
United States
support nuclear energy in new york
New York released a draft of its new State Energy Plan for public comment—and now, for the first time, it includes new nuclear. Make your support known and submit written comments on the Draft State Energy Plan through October 6, 2025.
After the loss of the Indian Point nuclear plant in 2021, emissions from in-state increased, and a reliable source of clean power was lost. Help New York carve a new path forward with nuclear front and center.
